Hong Kong is Chinas Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and has its own organization independently from china

According to the law, Hong Kong has a high degree of autonomy as part of Chinese territory for 50 years from 1997. Hong Kong government holds the operating of the land and resources.

Hong Kong government is trying international competitiveness strengthening for major economic policy. For these efforts, in the evaluation of world economic degrees of freedom by the US Harriet Foundation, Hong Kong has won for 16 years straight to 2010. And also Hong Kong was selected the world number 1 economic free zone(US CATO Institute), the best business environment in the world.(World Economic Forum, International Institute of Management Development, EIU). It is good for us to do our business, but its not only for us, but also to other companies. That means there would be so many companies which want to extend their market. So we have to differentiate our product.

Hong Kong government develops indifferent policy to the foreign investor. No special tax and site offering incentive, but they are going to up-grade the all the system at the world highest level. As part of this policy, they reduced corporate tax from 17.5% to 16.5%, personal income tax reduced 1% to 15%. On following they abolished wine tax and 0% tariff for the all alcohol less than 30 degrees. It is definitely low rate compared to other country in OECD.





ECONOMY

Hong Kong’s economy has undergone a remarkable transformation in the past two decades. There has been a rapid expansion in the services sector. In 2007, this sector generated 92% of Hong Kong’s Gross Domestic Product(GDP). Even without the public sector, services still accounted for about 83% of GDP in 2007. By meeting the challenges of rapid technological change and the increasingly intense competition brought about by globalization, the Hong Kong economy has been moving up the value-added chain, shifting towards higher value-added services and more knowledge-based activities. At the same time, the economic and financial integration between Hong Kong and the Mainland has been going from strength to strength, creating abundant business opportunities for a wide range of services. These evolving developments have seen rapid expansion in Hong Kong’s services sector over the past years.

We are already know about Hong Kong’s services sector is among the most developed in East Asia. In this 1 chart, as time goes by, services sector is growing up. This is not absolute quantity, but relative part. The share of the services sector in GDP thus rose further, from 30.9% in 1987 to 46.1% in 2007. Among the major service sectors, financing, insurance, real estate and business services, and community, social and personal services had the fastest growth.
